Bond Reduced for M.K. McKinney in Amber Spradlin Murder Case
A judge has approved a significant modification/reduction in bond for M.K. McKinney, who is charged in connection with the 2023 murder of Amber Spradlin in Floyd County.
McKinney was originally being held on a $5 million cash bond following his arrest. During a recent court hearing, Special Judge Eddy Coleman modified those conditions, allowing for a combination bond that includes both property and cash. Under the new ruling, McKinney may seek release by posting more than $1 million in property along with 10% of $4.5 million equaling ($450,000).
If the bond conditions are met, McKinney would not be released without restrictions. Court records indicate that he would be placed on home incarceration and monitored electronically. Additional conditions include prohibitions on driving, possessing weapons, and using drugs or alcohol, with compliance subject to testing. He would also be barred from contacting certain individuals connected to the case.
