Kentucky State Police Post 9 Makes 28 Arrests in Major Local Drug Operation

Operation Mountain Justice leads to 54 criminal charges and the seizure of more than $102,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (July 7, 2026) — A coordinated drug enforcement operation by Kentucky State Police Post 9 has resulted in 28 arrests, dozens of criminal charges and the seizure of more than $102,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs.

The operation, known as Operation Mountain Justice, targeted suspected drug trafficking networks operating across the Kentucky State Police Post 9 district.

According to Kentucky State Police, Post 9 troopers and detectives worked together during the enforcement effort, which resulted in 54 total criminal charges.

Authorities also reported seizing approximately 4.7 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, 130 grams of suspected fentanyl, three firearms and approximately $1,500 in cash.

Kentucky State Police said the operation is part of its continued effort to disrupt the distribution of illegal drugs and hold those responsible accountable. Operations such as Mountain Justice are aimed at removing dangerous drugs and illegal firearms from local communities.
